Warranty Plans

A warranty plan defines coverage for your products: the warranty every buyer gets, or an extended warranty you sell. This article is for brand teams setting up warranties.

Go to Warranties › Plans. The list shows each plan's Name, Duration, Price, Status and Assignments.

Create a plan

  1. Click to add a plan, then enter a Plan name and Duration (months).
  2. Continue on the plan's edit page.
  3. Fill in Plan details: Description, Duration, and whether it is Included with the product.
  4. Fill in Coverage: choose a Coverage type (Full Coverage, Limited Coverage, Manufacturer Warranty or Extended Warranty), then write Coverage details, Warranty terms and Exclusions. Coverage details are shown to customers.
  5. Assign the plan to products (see below) and switch Active on.

Included or paid

  • Included with the product is the warranty every buyer gets. Product passports show its length for the products it is assigned to.
  • Turn it off for an extended warranty you sell. Paid plans have a Price shown with the offer.

Assign a plan

Under Product assignments, add an assignment for a Specific product, a Product family or All products. A plan with no assignments does not appear on any product page.

Offer an extended warranty

For a paid plan, the Extended warranty offer card has a Buy link: the page in your own store where owners buy it. Veribl has no checkout of its own, so buying happens in your store. Without a buy link the plan isn't offered.

Owners of the assigned products see the offer on the product page, right after registering, in the registration email and in flow emails. You can turn off the offer after registering in the Warranty registration section of your theme.

Shopify purchases extend coverage

If you use the Shopify app and the buy link points to a store product (a link containing /products/), a purchase of that product adds the plan's months to the buyer's most recent registration of a covered product. If they haven't registered yet, the extension waits and is applied when they do. Each order line counts once.

Edit or delete

Use the row menu for View details, Edit or Delete. Deleting is on the plan's page under Danger zone as well.
