Download a QR code
- Open the product from Products and go to the QR & links tab.
- Under QR Code, download as PNG or SVG. Use SVG for print, since it scales to any size.
From the product list, ⋯ › Download QR code gives you a PNG.
What the QR code links to
The code uses the first of these that applies:
- GS1 Digital Link: if the product has a GTIN on the Details tab, the link is
/01/{gtin}. This is the standard format used on packaging and by passports. - Branded link: your company's page address plus the product's public ID.
- Fallback link: a short link by public ID.
With a valid GTIN, the GS1 Digital Link section of the tab shows the link, its element string and a human-readable form. Without one it asks you to add a GTIN on the Details tab.
Batch and serial links
GS1 links can point to a single unit or batch by adding the serial or batch after the GTIN: /01/{gtin}/21/{serial} for a serial number and /01/{gtin}/10/{batch} for a batch. A serial link opens that unit's page, and a batch link opens the passport with that batch's details. An unknown batch shows the model's passport with a note. The QR code you download from the product is the product-level one, so build per-unit or per-batch codes by adding these parts to the link. See Battery passports and Passport access.
QR codes and statuses
The QR code does not change when the status does. Draft shows "not available yet", Live shows the product page, Archived shows "no longer available". You never need to reprint. See Product statuses and publishing.
Tip: Print a test and scan it from the distance a customer would, before producing in volume.
