Veribl can offer your product pages, Help Center, AI assistant and passports in more than one language. You choose the languages, and Veribl can translate your content with AI. This article is for whoever manages your content and markets.
Go to Settings › Languages.
Choose your languages
In the Languages card:
- Default language is the language you write your content in. Customers whose language you do not offer see this one.
- Other languages are the languages your content is translated into. Click Add language to pick from the list, and remove a language with the x on its chip.
If you sell in markets that need a particular language, a banner suggests adding it, because EU rules require product information in the local language. Click Add it (or Add them). Languages that come from your markets are labeled market.
Changes are saved with the page's save bar.
Translate with AI
The Translation card has Translate automatically with AI. When it is on, Veribl translates an article into every language that is missing or out of date whenever you publish it. AI translations are marked so your team can review them.
You can also translate by hand in an article: open the article, switch language, click Translate with AI, read the result and click Mark as reviewed. The statuses are Original, Up to date, AI · needs review, Out of date and Not translated.
The AI assistant always answers customers in their own language, even when an article is not translated yet.
Terms that must not change
- Do not translate: add brand names, product names and other terms that must stay exactly as written in every language.
- Fixed translations: for a term that must always be translated the same way, enter the Term in your default language, choose the Language and enter Always translate as.
Passport languages
Each product passport has a Languages tab (Passports, then the product). It shows how much of the passport's text is translated in each language and has a Translate missing texts button. Under Review translations you can pick a language and edit any translation. Saving makes it a reviewed translation, and Mark as reviewed confirms an AI one.
The public passport opens in a language you offer: the one the visitor chose with the language switcher, otherwise the first one their browser asks for, otherwise your default. Labels and standard wording come translated. Your own text is shown translated only where a translation of that exact text exists, and names of materials, substances and spare parts stay as you wrote them. Changes to a translation show after you republish the passport. See Publishing passports.
How customers get their language
On product pages and the Help Center, the language is chosen in this order:
- A language in the page address or one the customer picked with the language switcher, which is remembered on their device
- Your default language
If the customer's phone or location suggests a language you offer, the page offers a switch instead of changing on its own. Customers can change language at any time from the language switcher.
