Product Registration

Product registration lets consumers register their purchases for warranty activation, support, and marketing communications.

How registration works

When a consumer scans a product's QR code, they see a registration form on the product page:

  1. Consumer scans the QR code and opens the product page
  2. They click Register this product
  3. They enter their details — name, email, and optional fields
  4. They can opt in to email marketing communications
  5. The registration is confirmed and warranty is activated

What data is captured

Each registration records:

  • Consumer name — first and last name
  • Email address — used for warranty communications and support
  • Registration date — timestamp of when they registered
  • Product details — which product and serial number (if applicable)
  • Marketing consent — whether they opted in to receive marketing emails
  • IP address — for consent record-keeping

Viewing registrations

Track registrations in your dashboard:

  1. Navigate to Customers in the sidebar
  2. Click the Registrations tab
  3. View all registrations with consumer details and dates
  4. Click a registration to see full details

Registrations are also linked to the consumer's contact record in the Contacts tab, giving you a unified view.

Warranty activation

When a consumer registers, their warranty period begins automatically based on the warranty information you've configured on the product. The warranty confirmation email is sent immediately if you have email automations enabled.

Tip: Enable the warranty confirmation email in Automations to send an instant confirmation with warranty details to every consumer who registers.
