Commerce is where you list the things you sell to product owners, such as accessories and refills, show them on product pages and in flow emails, and see what people click. Veribl does not take payment: every item links to your own store or a retailer's page. It is for teams that want more repeat sales from people who already own their products.
The Commerce area has three tabs: Catalog, Storefront and Discounts.
Add an item to the catalog
- Go to Commerce › Catalog and click Add item.
- Enter a Name, optional Description and the Type.
- Add the Price, the Buy URL (the page where the customer buys it) and an Image.
- Save.
Item types are Accessory, Consumable, Upgrade, Bundle and Spare part. Use the Type filter to browse the list. Click an item's row actions for View details, Edit or Delete.
Spare parts
A spare part has extra fields: Part number, Available for (years), Tools needed and a checkbox Customers can replace it themselves. These show on product passports and repair pages of the products you assign the part to.
Assign items to products
An item only appears for the products it is assigned to. Open an item with View details and, under assignments, Add assignment to choose:
- Specific product
- Product family
- All products
Show a store banner on product pages
Commerce › Storefront sets a promotional banner on your product pages. It replaces the old store promotion in Brand Hub.
- Enter your Store URL, such as your online shop or a retailer landing page.
- Optionally set the Headline, Description and Button text. A blank headline is generated from your company name.
- Add a Banner image (recommended 1400 x 700 px). With no image, your brand colour is used.
- Check the Preview and save.
Discount codes
Commerce › Discounts lists your codes with Code, Discount, Trigger, Uses, Status and Expires. Click New Discount to create one:
- Code — uppercase, no spaces, for example WELCOME10.
- Description — internal only.
- Discount — Percentage or Fixed Amount.
- Minimum Purchase, Maximum Uses and Expiry Date — all optional.
- Trigger — where the code is given out: Manual, Warranty Registration, Product Tips Email, Review Request Email, Accessory Email or Refill Reminder.
A code with a Warranty Registration trigger is shown to the customer after they register. Codes can also be added to flow emails: in an email step, choose the code under Discount code. See Flows.
The code is entered in your own store, so create the matching code there too. Veribl only gives the code out and counts uses of its own codes.
Where items show up
- On product pages, for the products the item is assigned to.
- In flow emails as a Featured item: the refill or accessory that fits the customer's product, or a specific item.
Clicks and sales
Veribl records each click on an item's buy link, and clicks on the store banner. Analytics shows them in the Sales section, with the most clicked buy links and the Store Visits card. If you connect a Shopify store, Analytics also shows orders and revenue that came from Veribl. See Analytics and Shopify app.
Tip: Assign consumables to the exact products that use them. The "refill that fits their product" option in a flow only works when the assignment is right.
