QR Codes & Scanning
Every product in Veribl gets a unique QR code that links consumers directly to your product page. Learn how to generate, download, and use QR codes.
Generate a QR code
QR codes are generated automatically when you create a product. To download:
- Open the product from Products
- Click Download QR in the top toolbar
- Choose your format:
- PNG — best for digital use and web
- SVG — scalable vector format, ideal for print at any size
- PDF — ready for professional printing
- Select the size appropriate for your packaging
QR code sizing guidelines
- Minimum 15mm × 15mm — for reliable scanning on packaging
- 20mm × 20mm — recommended for most product labels
- 30mm+ × 30mm+ — for shelf displays and marketing materials
Tip: Always test your QR code at the printed size before manufacturing. Scan from the expected distance to ensure it works reliably.
How scanning works
When a consumer scans your QR code:
- Their smartphone camera reads the QR code
- They're directed to your product's consumer page on Veribl
- The page displays product information, content, and interactive features
- The scan is recorded in your analytics dashboard
Product lookup chain
Veribl uses a flexible lookup system to find the right product:
- Public ID — unique identifier generated by Veribl
- Serial number — if assigned, looks up the specific unit
- Model number — falls back to the product model if no serial match
This means you can use one QR code per model (for general product info) or per unit (for serialized tracking).
QR codes and product statuses
- Published products — QR code shows the full consumer product page
- Draft products — QR code is generated but shows a "coming soon" message
- Archived products — QR code shows a limited page
QR codes remain valid across all status changes. You never need to reprint QR codes when updating or republishing a product.
